Programs

The Department of Fiber Science & Apparel Design (FSAD) has a broad outreach effort built on its research base. Three of our programs relate directly to fiber science and apparel design.

The Youth Program develops and implements textile-related programs for youth. The programs emphasize science exploration, skill building, and community service.

The Personal Pesticide Protection program identifies ways to use personal protective equipment to reduce human exposure to pesticides and provides this information to appropriate audiences.

The fourth program, Water Quality, seeks to educate individuals, families, and communities about drinking water quality, private water supplies, onsite wastewater systems, home water treatment, and household chemicals.
